My mother was in the advanced stage of gastric cancer that ravaged her with each passing day. Her dying wish was to see me get married to Lucas, an Alpha of another pack whom I was betrothed to since childhood. I was supposed to get married to him three moons ago but our respective park decided we should postponed the wedding due to my mother's deteriorating health, but since she wanted to us get married as a last wish. We decided to carry-on with the wedding in a low-key ceremony but on the day of our nuptials. Lucas vanished without a trace leaving me and my mother heartbroken, that night, under the full moon, my mother's life slipped away with a dying regret. I held her arms feeling the warmth drained from her body. The next day, the whole pack of the Red Moon gathered for my mother's funeral, I wasn't surprised to see that Lucas parents were conspicuously absent at the funeral. I didn't hear from them again since their son abandoned me at the altar. I felt a gush of anger pass through me, but with the entire pack, friends and relatives comforting me, I restrained myself from creating a scene. I just handled my mother's funeral alone with in low-esteem.. After the funeral I went back home in the woods, a home I shared with Lucas. I was still in a state of grief, shock and betrayal after my mother's death and Lucas abandonment. I was busy arranging to park my belongings and leave town for sometime so I could come to terms with my misfortune. With my parents gone, I was the only offspring left, the reason my late father betrothed me to Lucas in a formidable alliance with Lucas father as a pact that Lucas would help me lead the park after his passing. He thought my position as an omega would strengthen once I get married to Lucas, , little did he He got me married me to a devil, I was super devastated with what happened. My phone buzzed with an unknown notification, I thought of ignoring the phone, but my heart edged me towards it. I was shocked to see a smiling photo of Jennifer, my best friend in an uncompromising position with Lucas. The phone fell down from my hand. “Do you like what you see? I heard a voice and looked up to see Jennifer titling her chin proudly like the snitch she was, She was until few minutes ago consoling me at my mother's funeral I noticed a mark on her right hand but I maintained my composture. Lucas walked in with a powerful aura hovering around him. I saw him walk right to her, took her palm and kissed it softly, my fear was confirmed. “Yes, we mated, it was—one of the best moment I ever experienced. Lukas was destined for me, he is the one I ever wanted since they moved to this town.” She was replied angrily without a tinge of remorse in her voice. Jennifer held on to Lukas tightly as if declaring her sovereignty. The scene in front of me shattered my heart. The man who has promised to protect, cherish and love me mated with another wolf from a rivalry pack. Lukas really broke me The wolf in me moved and I sprinted towards Jennifer with rage boiling inside of me. “You mated with him on my wedding day at the expense of my mother's life!” I voiced out angryily jerking her, when I felt a punch in my stomach, sending flying across the marble floor. My swollen eyes barely managed to open when I saw Lucas in full view with a smirk I badly wanted to smack off this two-faced bastard before my eyes blackened out…..

I woke up few hours later to see it was evening already, I was clueless to know the hours that had gone by since I passed out, my head felt giddy and heavy at the same time. The events of the day came rushing back to my memory and I felt a pang of anger. I vowed to make Lucas and Jennifer pay for what they did to me I tried moving only to realize my hands and legs were tied up, my stomach still hurting from Lucas punch growled because I barely ate since my mother's demise. When I heard the sound of laughter from the devil-duo, they were laughing in mockery at my pathetic state. I felt a splash of cold water on my face, an act that made my sun-tanned skin redder that it was. “Look at how pathetic you look, If only you hadn't tried to trap Lucas into marriage using your mother fake health status as a plot to make him get married to you. I would have spared you, darling old friend.” Jennifer spatted out in a cruel voice making me wonder if this was the same sweet girl I shared my candies and sweet cotton with, whom I got hurt for many times from bullies during childhood. I widened my eyes seeing a gun in Lucas, he was caressing the gun with the usual wicked smirk on his face. “Let me do the honor, darling.” And I saw him placed the gun in her hands obediently. She crocked the gun and pointed towards my direction, I had managed to unite my right hand when a silver bullet hits my shout with a swift force. I got thrown backward due to the impact that caught me by surprise. My head spins as I tried to grab a chair near the dinning area with my free hand. “You are a disgusting wannabe!” Jennifer’s voice echoed in my head. I felt remorse forever trusting Lucas that he would cherish and protect me. “Did you think I was going to marry you? Lucas chipped in with disgust written over his face. “My father purposely arranged a marriage between the two leading parks for our family personal gains, I wasn't going to marry you anyway whether you accept it or not. Anyway I don't need to explain myself. After you're gone. I'm going to be the most powerful Alpha leader of both Nombre and Red Moon parks.” Lying down in a pool of blood unable to digest Lucas confessions of wanting to marrying me the first place when I heard him spoke again. “With your weak mother gone like the west wind. Did you think I would keep you alive? Lucas leans towards me with a disgusting grin plastered on his face, his green eyes shining threateningly as he speaks. “You are not that important, Annie. You're nothing, more useless , just like your mother, and you deserve a painful death just like hers.” “What did I ever did to you? My voice trembles with tears flowing down my cheeks. My vision was becoming blur, rapidly weakening me. I can't believe I was so foolish to get ensnared into the game of these two, less than few hours ago Jennifer was consoling me at my mother's funeral and now she was a traitor standing in full glory in full glory glory staring at me with a satisfied pleasure. I was so foolish and naive, I never imagined they concocted evil plans against me until today. It was more of a harboured hatred and a planned work from the beginning. I was the fool who never noticed Lucas has nothing but ill feeling towards despite putting my trust in him. All the people I regarded as family has betrayed me.

“You will no longer be a burden in my life, Annie, not in Jennifer's. It will be my utmost pleasure to send you to hell along with your parents. I remember how Lucas had showered me with affection in the past, why couldn't I read in between the lines that he never loved me, his family just coveted me because I was the sole heir to my family dynasty and I never imagined in the whole wide world that Lucas was concocting a sinister plan against me. My heart shatters in the moment. I always believed my father's death happened in a strange circumstances. Now there's no doubt Lucas and his treacherous family had something to do with my father's death, rumours in town said before my father's untimely death, he was last seen with Lucas, my mother and I had refused to pay heed to those rumours. Because I was blinded by love for him, my mother also trusted him because he became a pillar. She had no doubt about him Now more than ever I was convinced Lucas had something to do with my father's tragic death. More than ever I wanted to stay alive and extract revenge, now I wished I explored them earlier to have an escape option. Lucas's evil smirk was the last thing I saw before another muffled shot resonated throughout the wood. The last shot forcefully pierces through my chest. I barely managed to look up to the faces of the two people who hated me so much. “Why Lucas?” I managed to ask with a half howl, anguished and broken. “Why are you doing this to me? Nothing prepared me for this moment l was too naive for the evil that surrounded me. I was lost with a lot of unanswered questions. A sharp pain and dizziness suddenly attacked me. Instinctively I brought both hands to my chest feeling something breaking inside. “I hate you, Annie Baltimore and I hope you rot in hell forever and ever.” I could only emit a loud cry of pain and despair. At that moment Jennifer shot me with another bullet taking me with surprise, she was more than eager to get rid of me. “I accept your rejection,” I managed to say before darkness and oblivion completely took over me, another dreadful howl this time from Lucas reverberated through the vast wood dispersing every living thing from the vast wood. “How do we dispose of the body without being seen? Jennifer ask Lucas with concern. “I have perfect plan for that, we will dispose of the body by the table-white cliff outskirts of town. I planted lots of Alibis Incase the town nosy sheriff ask any questions or poses any threat, because I know he would've let this slid easily. Let get going so we can dispose of the body, the moon is out already, a perfect timing.” Assisting Lucas to thrown Annie's corpse off the cliff. She was damn happy things went according to plans, looking at Lucas with an accelerated breathing. Finally he will be completely be hers even though she has been marked by him, she was finally going to be his sole Luna, the stars really aligned in her favour. Lucas looks at his shotgun and places it carefully in his pocket, making sure no one saw them. “Don’t worry my queen ,I told you no one comes around here and she is dead and gone from our lives forever. Hearing a gasp but from the distance, so he doesn't pay any attention to it nor worry about anything else. Jennifer was right after all, everything turned out well. Annie Baltimore is dead and now the entire parks of nombre and red moon belonged to him, the future Alpha.

I woke up with a full ache in my head, realizing I had been dreaming and groaning in pain. Letting out a low curse, I felt a bandage wrapped around my head which was a physical reminder of how I escaped death. The sun halos brimmed through the window, I glanced to see myself in a dimly lit room. I glanced towards the other side of the bed fixed with blood drip. My wolf body drained and worn out from the profound effect of the silver bullets shot in to my bloodstream, letting out a low curse, I had underestimated the pain of silver bullets and I never knew it would be this agonizing. I felt a bandage wrapped around my head, which was a physical reminder of how I escaped death. I felt empty—hollowed our by grief and loss as the weight of memories of past events pressed on me. I slowly recollected the memories of past events, and it was as if I died once. My heart sinked, I had lost my word in chaos of shattered images and love torn by grief and betrayal. The death of my beloved parents had already pushed me almost to the brink of insanity and now coupled with the cruel betrayal of Lucas intensified my agony. The shattered fragments of my heart seemed already scarred by the betrayal of Lucas. Recalling his animalistic behavior clawed my soul, beach memory like a sharp sword ripped through my chest. The love and bond that has once been a a source of warmth turned a scary memory tormenting me with realization that what we shared would remain a nightmare. I lay there looking lost, staring in to empty space as I wallowed in self-pity hoping to wake up from this unexpected nightmare “I will get back at them, I muttered trying to comfort myself”. My ears perked up on hearing the sound of footsteps, weariness met anticipation, I wanted to meet who rescued me. I lifted my gaze despite being exhausted and smiled warmly. I had endured only God knows how many days of exhaustion, saying I was beyond exhausted would be an understatement. The door opened and my tired eyes met brown eyes which are normally warm and compassionate. However, his eyes darkness he walked towards me like they were hiding secrets. My intuition told me he was the one who saved me in an instant. “Thank you for saving me”. I found muttering in a low tone. “It is the will of the Moon goddess, she saved you, not me”. He offered , a subtle flicker in his eyes revealing more than his words conveyed. “My grandmother will be here soon, she's a traditional healer too and she has been helping me nurse you back to life”. A knock on the door cut short his conversation. A beautiful woman with silver hair colour walked in to the room, she carried an air of elegance with an aura of prestige hovering around her. Her eyes filled with love and concern suddenly lighten up, she became happy and and walked towards me patting me gently on my freed hand. A sign that she was happy to see conscious after many days of being bedridden. “Here, dear,” she said, bringing me out of thoughts. She handed me a cup filled with a traditional medicine she brewed. “My grandmother is the healer of the golden moon pack, the brown eyes stranger who hadn't utter a word since grandmother came suddenly spoke out with pride. The scent wafted through the air—a mixture of local herbs. I took cups from her hands with shaking hands, grateful for her care and drank the concoction carefully so it wouldn't spill. Warmth spread through me, a balm to my damaged soul and body. As the comforting effects settled in, so did the flood of memories. Tears swell in my ears and I began to cry.

The tears and pain of betrayal was overwhelming me. His grandmother sat close to me, watching me cry my soul out. I was grateful to have the brown eyes stranger whose name I was yet to know. Their presence gave me reassurance. Gently placing a hand on mine and giving me an empathy look I never wanted anyone to give me. “It is okay to cry dear, let it out, you have been asleep for days, I'm sure you have lots of emotions bottled up inside you.” She said softly as the weight of loss, rejection and betrayal pressed heavily on my chest in a loving embrace and in that moment I let my tears flow, veach drop carrying the weight of grief and the beginning of a painful healing process. “Sometimes dear, healing begins with acknowledging pain . Let yourself grieve.” She added that it made so harder as I remembered all the past good memories. Lucas and I were childhood sweethearts. I never foresaw us breaking up; we once swore to each other that only death could break us apart, but now everything was over in the blink of an eye. “I'm here for you, my sweet Annie. You aren't alone," she said softly. I wondered how she knew my name Yet I felt lonely as the weight of the double loss was an anchor pulling me deeper into despair, Healing doesn't exist, and I got to find out in the days that followed. I wandered through the pack lands like a ghost as everyone gave me the look of pity. Grandmother was always by my side, trying to comfort me with words like, "You're stronger than you realise, my love. The pain will ease with time." But I knew better deep within that this was something I could never heal from and not accept as the reality of my shattered dreams lingered. I lay on the bed like I always had as the weight of grief and memories pressed on, and just when I was about to close my eyes, I heard a soft knock on the door, and I gazed up to see the man who rescued me, Abel, entering the room. Ever since he had carried me to the hospital, I had never seen him, because Grandmother had mentioned how he brought me back to her pack while I was unconscious as a result of shooting by silver bullets and thrown the cliffs, Thankfully a tree held my body if not, I would have sustained serious injuries. His brown eyes softened with concern as he saw the tears staining my cheeks. "Annie," he began, his voice filled with an unusual urgency, I looked up confidently seeing him worried. there's something you should know. Alpha Lucas is getting married to the lady whom I both saw together at the cliff disposing your body, and he intends to make her Luna immediately.” The words hung in the air, a cruel twist to an already devastating tale. My heart, already shattered, seemed to crumble further at the news of his swift decision to move on within few days of my supposed demise. The tormenting thoughts swirled in my mind, and a haunting question lingered: would Lucas truly betrayed her? I could remember the sound of her laughter filling me with despair while they both shot me almost to death. It was a sharp contrast to my pain, which fueled the seed of revenge in me.The betrayal cut deeper into my soul, the wounds of his rejection, and the startling revelation that my perfect world had been turned upside down washed over me as I realised that I had been abandoned as a living dead. The room felt like it was closing in on me, and the walls were echoing with the weight of betrayal. It suddenly felt like getting choked up.

I looked at Grandmother, her eyes mirroring the sadness I felt within. My world had shattered, and a new wave of heartache crashed over me. The realisation of his quick replacement plunged me into a deeper abyss of sorrow. In my world, death was better than being an omega. I was slowly slipping away from reality. "Annie ," I just wanted to die or wake up from this nightmare. "Annie, are you still listening?" Abel's urgency jolted me back from the brink, yet the persistent darkness within echoed a silent scream through the shattered pieces of my world. "Yeah, I am, Abel. It's just that everything is happening all at once, and it's really hard for me to take in," I admitted, my voice overwhelmed with emotions. It was hard to believe everything that was happening and how easily Lucas was quick to replace me. Abel looked at me in understanding and nodded his head sympathetically. Abel was unmated, and I have never seen him with a female, so I doubt he understood all I was going through right to now Abel looked at me in understanding and nodded his head sympathetically. Abel was unmated, and so I doubt he understood all I was going through right now. "I understand, Luna, what it feels like to be betrayed by someone you love," he muttered with a distant look in his eyes, then his face suddenly changed to one of determination. "That's why we need to prepare to go back to the Red Moon pack. The sooner you begin your revenge, the better for you to fix your life back together and move on." I looked up to him, acknowledging the need to face the tumultuous challenges awaiting me at the place where love had crumbled and betrayal set in. At this time, everything was pitch black with no way out to set my plans into motion,Then, I knew what I had to do and that was to request favour from the moon goddess and fortunately she answered me at the darkest hour, I emerged not as a person without severe injuries but as a new person; someone strong, someone who's ready to eliminate all her enemies. My eyes fluttered open and I exhale, it was like breaths were gathering in my nose. I gasp and sprung from bed. My eye-mind told me I needed a complete makeover since I wouldn't take revenge with my real identity, it was too risky with Lucas being the Alpha of two powerful packs. It would be difficult to take him down. I would really need Abel's help in getting disguise. I was thankful to the moon goddess before bringing me back , none of them would be spared starting from Lucas and Jennifer's to his parents beta who also contributed to causing me pain . You all should watch out for me because I am not the girl you know anymore. I have made numerous mistakes of being too nice, shy and kind oblivious of what the world was truly made of; I won't make those mistakes twice again. I won't let them trample on me any longer like trash. I know my place and I'm ready to get it. I won't let their union hold, Lucas and Jennifer will pay dearly. But before then, I would have to separate them. Abel presented a radiant invitation card, beckoning various wolf packs to witness Lucas's union with Jennifer. "Annie, this is your chance to retaliate," Abel whispered, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. "A grand ball precedes the wedding ceremony, offering the perfect setting for your revenge.” “We will both attend as a couple from this pack to avoid and divert any sort of suspicion.”

I looked up in amazement to see him crocked a mischievous eyebrow at me. I blushed with warmth radiating from my body. “When are we leaving for the wedding? I asked with eagerness, I couldn't wait to face two traitors who called themselves my fiancee and best friend in the past. “All arrangement have been done, we will leave tomorrow at sunrise.” I was quite surprised that Abel had all arrangement ready. But I couldn't fathom to why Abel was so interested in helping me get revenge. From rescuing me to nursing me back to my life and now he was accompanying me back to where it all started. We left the following day after informing his grandmother about our departure. Missing her was an understatement, she and Abel treated me like family and I had come to loved them like family,I was forever indebted to them, after promises of coming back in the near future, she gave her blessings and wished me well in my endeavors. While on the ride back to Osborne. Abel told me we would be visiting my parent's final resting place, I was super reminded of my fractured world When we arrived at the graveyard my father's tombstone laid next to my mother's own. Lightly I felt a hand rest on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Abel comforting me His brown eyes pitied me, handing me a pair of fresh daisies, I gently placed them on my parents grave. Arriving secretly at a guest house in Osborne, I was a bit surprised that Abel had all arrangement ready for my plans. I was grateful to have him by my side. He opened the door ever so slowly, and allowed me to enter the room. The room looked like a work out room, but some things were out of place, for lack of better words. On the right side of the room, there was a punching bag hanging from the ceiling and several life size dummies. You will have more time to learn how to fight. Werewolves are tough to kill, but you have Baltimore blood in you. Not much, but it is there, and we have got to let your strength and will fight free.” Abel held my hands while reassuring me. I was still oblivious to why he was helping me this much. My stylist was already waiting in the room and we proceeded towards my makeover & transformation. I looked at myself in the mirror and was surprised. I looked a different person. My brown messy hair was now a straight blonde hair, my green eyes was now wearing blue lens and my thick eyebrows shaved into a thin line. I was surprised to the room I lodged into with a wardrobe filled with designer clothes. Flipping quickly through the wardrobe for something to wear. I got a metallic gown with straps which was quite fitting since I would be attending a ball, it rather an informal attire. Also it matched my favourite golden colour of heels. I had to wore it, not to mention they also fitted my bust perfectly. I applied a bit and picked up a matching purse before stepping out of the room, I saw a message pop on my phone, it was a short message from Abel saying he would be late for the ball and he would join me later. The chauffeur was already waiting for me. When I got to the venue of the back, it was already in full swing, music blurred from the speakers and I could see representatives from different wolf pack enjoying themselves, couples danced with each other. I took a seat and watched everything keenly. The soon-to-be married couple entrance was announced, I turned my face backwards see the two traitors walking majestically into the hall like they owned the world.
